The NCSF comprises two separate corporate entities, the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom and the NCSF Foundation. Although both the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom and the NCSF Foundation are part of the same overall organization, it is necessary to have two separate organizations to enable us to do the broad range of work we do.
Supporters of the NCSF can choose to make a contribution to the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom, the NCSF Foundation or both. A contribution to either organization will be used to support and promote the NCSF mission.
Both organizations support the NCSF's extensive education, advocacy and outreach work. However, certain important activities carried out by the NCSF cannot be supported with tax-deductible gifts. In NCSF's case this is primarily in the area of lobbying and activities that are geared to our memberships, because federal law limits the amount that a tax-exempt organization like the NCSF Foundation can spend on lobbying.
As a matter of necessity, the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom engages in legislative lobbying to advance the rights of people involved in consenting alternative lifestyles. Our efforts to work for the decriminalization of SM activities and our Incident Reporting & Response Program designed to provide support for our constituencies experiencing discrimination because of their alt-sex interests are just a few examples of work that can only be funded through non-deductible membership gifts to the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom. Therefore, we strongly encourage donors interested in supporting the broad range of the NCSF's work to consider making the largest possible non-deductible gift that they can afford to the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom.
Donors who wish to make a tax-deductible gift can do so by contributing to the NCSF Foundation. Many donors choose to make membership gifts in support of the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom as well as tax-deductible gifts to the NCSF Foundation.
