Introduction The National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF) is a national advocacy organization promoting tolerance of consenting adults who practice safe, sane and consensual alternative forms of sexual expression. NCSF represents the millions of Americans who suffer discrimination and persecution because of their normal interests in some form of alternative sexual expression. What is Alternative Sexual Expression? Some Quick Facts: Millions of adult Americans practice some form of SM, fetishes, swinging or polyamory in their loving and caring relationships. These people have created over 500 local nonprofit support groups, and hundreds of businesses across the country. This is not some "tiny" minority, nor is it one whose members are on the "fringes" of society. People from all walks of life, including professionals, parents, teachers and police officers; and individuals of all sexual orientations, practice alternative sexual expression in some form. In the 1999 Violence & Discrimination Survey conducted by NCSF, of the 1,000 people surveyed who practiced SM-Leather-Fetish activities, 30 percent had suffered discrimination and 36 percent had suffered violence or harassment because of their interests.
