I have been a licensed psychotherapist in the state of California since 1983.  I have worked with individuals from the poly/kink/queer communities since 1983, even before we used some of these terms.  Sometimes kink/poly/queer issues were the main focus of our work while at other times they weren't but my clients wanted to feel safe that all aspects of their lifestyles would be respected in therapy.

I specialize in short-term therapy with individuals and couples. We'll decide what you would like to see different at the completion of our work. It might be making a decision about your job or improving communication with your partner. I see myself as a facilitator of your change process. I bring many years of experience working with all kinds of people with many kinds of issues. Our work will be tailored to your specific needs.

How can I help you in your change process? By bringing in a fresh perspective. By helping you find solutions that work for you. By acknowledging how scary change can be. By providing you with support and a "yes you can do this" attitude.

Everything we do is based on establishing a safe, respectful relationship. Therapy is a partnership where you are responsible for your own success and I help facilitate the process. Humor is essential! I look forward to talking with you to see if I'm the right therapist for you.

I use a variety of treatment approaches so we can develop a plan that will meet your individual needs rather than a one size fits all. These include psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, family therapy, feminist, humanistic, and mindfulness approaches.
