Annual Meeting Expectations of behavior

For Members: While we were happy to shorten your meeting and provide more information up front, it means we may not have as much time as we would like for discussion and questions. As always though, YOU are NCSF and we welcome your thoughts and voice. There are several ways to do that:

For Non-Members: While everyone is welcome to attend and observe, this meeting is specifically for our membership, so if you are not a member, please refrain from commenting. If necessary, you can send a direct message privately in chat to Tess, and if there is time, we will address it. 2025 Board Candidate Bios

Tony Korol-Evans

K. Tony Korol-Evans, Ph.D., (she/her) is currently the Training & Special Projects Administrator for the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence. She has spent more than three decades volunteering and working on behalf of survivors of gender-based violence through direct services, training, legislation, public policy, systems change, communications, and mentorship of a generation of new advocates. Additionally, Dr. Korol-Evans has written and performed theatrical pieces on rape and sexual violence. Tony has also been a member of the Kink Community for over two decades and is a fierce advocate for consent in kink. She has been a member of the Consent Counts Committee of the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF) for three years and has served for a year on the NCSF Board. Dr. Korol-Evans resides on Virginia’s Eastern Shore with her husband, Mark, and their adorably neurotic dog, Murphy.

Elyssa Helfer

I am Dr. Elyssa Helfer, founder of The Center for Relational Therapy, AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, and Clinical Sexologist in the Los Angeles area. I earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Sexology, a Masters in Clinical Psychology, and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving clientele in California, Colorado, and Florida. As an Adjunct Professor at Antioch University- Seattle, I specialize in and educate about working with erotically marginalized communities, primarily the kink population. In addition to my therapy practice, I create and present kink/BDSM- related coursework and workshops, write for Psychology Today (Kink Outside The Box blog), and am a Research Associate at The Alternative Sexualities Health Research Alliance (TASHRA). Now that I have covered the letters surrounding my name, you should know who I am and why I do what I do. I may be an academic in practice, but I am an activist at heart. My life is wholeheartedly dedicated to giving a voice to those who have been silenced and using my privilege, skills, and passion to shift the current landscape of sexual shame into one of sexual freedom. A single paragraph is not enough to convey just how strongly I feel about my purpose in this world, so I invite you to allow me to remain a part of this organization that I love so much.

Kelly M. Larkin

Starting in 2020, Kelly Larkin has served as Secretary, KAP Director, and Volunteer Coordinator for the NCSF. She has provided prompt and thorough meeting notices and meeting minutes to board members during this time. As KAP Director, she manages all new listings, data integrity/cleanup, and questions from users and professionals. As Volunteer Coordinator, she receives all volunteer applications, directs volunteers to programs that fit their skills, and sources skilled volunteers for NCSF projects.

Kelly has been part of the BDSM community since 2013. She started volunteering in 2015 at one of NCSF’s Coalition Partners, The Red Chair, located in Alabama. She served as Volunteer Coordinator of The Red Chair from 2016 to 2017 and Secretary of Operations from 2017 to 2019. She managed a staff of seven front desk volunteers, tracked event attendance, documented event income, and stored confidential member information. During her tenure, she helped institute gender-neutral

bathrooms and The Red Chair’s standardized consent policy and consent incident reporting procedures. After retiring from her officer position in 2020 and moving to Tennessee, she has continued to support The Red Chair as Website Coordinator, managing their internal and external websites, virtual events, and event attendance forms.

Rolicia F. Martin

Rolicia F. Martin (she/her) serves as the Vice-Chair of the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF) Board of Directors. A survivor, advocate, educator, and researcher, she is committed to helping and educating people about sexual assault.

Rolicia joined the National Coalition for Sexual Assault in January 2021 and currently serves as a committee member for Educational Outreach, Consent Counts, and DEI. In 2022, upon the American Law Institute's approval of Section 213.10 of the Model Penal Code, she spearheaded the outreach and education initiative in Maryland. From her efforts, the NCSF formed partnerships with the Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MCASA) and the Maryland Women of Color Network (MWOCN) to educate legal professionals and victim services personnel on Explicit Prior Permission (EPP). Rolicia represented the NCSF at state and national meetings, including the MCASA Legislative Reception and the Woodhull Foundation's Sexual Freedom Summit. She is also researching and developing a kink- and CNM-aware policy on bystander intervention.

Her experience as an educator spans two decades. In 2019, Rolicia worked for the Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MCASA), where she breathed new life into its College Consortium, uniting colleges and universities statewide to place a spotlight on this dark topic. Previously, she has served as the Baltimore City Coordinator for FORCE: Upsetting Rape Culture and as a Relationship Violence Peer Educator at her college alma mater.

Rolicia is a candidate for the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree, where she continues her research in Intimate partner violence. Her research interest focuses on the disclosure of intimate partner violence (IPV) among Black queer women as a catalyst for healing. When she is not educating or being educated, she explores her love for fashion through crochet.

Tess Zachary

Tess Zachary (she/her) is fiercely committed to protecting and advancing the rights of sexual minorities with a message of inclusion and advocacy.

Tess has been on the Board of Directors for the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (ncsfreedom.org) for several years and is currently the Chairperson. As Chair, Tess has brought her business acumen to improve policy and process to make the NCSF accountable, compliant, mission focused and sustainable.

Tess m

aterially participates in all the NCSF projects and programs bringing synergy, consistency, and mission alignment to many functions. As a member of the IRR team under Susan’s direction she brings resources to those who need them, with a focus on her expertise in clubs and groups. She co-chairs the EOP Committee which handles tabling, presentations both professional and in our communities, material, and resources. Tess personally has attended more than 50 events this term tabling and teaching

Tess has also served in various management roles for non- and not-for-profits both in and out of the kink and poly community space. Tess enjoys educating and helping people find the tools to participate in our communities in a way that honors their goals and their values.

Tess is a business owner, entrepreneur, and professional coach who brings a practical approach to everything she does.

In 2024, Tess accomplished a number of goals at the NCSF that include:

Ongoing policy revisions
Compliance and administrative automation
The proliferation of EPP in the NCSF message
Systematizing the transfer of organizational knowledge
Ramping up legal education in preparation for the publishing of MPC 213.10
Systematizing our lobbying program
A particular focus on the Sexually Oriented Business Ordinances which plague our communities
A continued focus on bringing the voices of our constituents to our work
