Key Programs

Consent Counts: The Consent Counts objective is to decriminalize sexual conduct between consenting adults. As part of this, we spread understanding of the need for, and nature of, consent. Our Consent Counts program assists our communities in promoting a culture of consent through education and by providing resources on how to address nonconsensual incidents. A chief goal is to decriminalize consensual BDSM that does not result in serious physical injury by ensuring that consent will be recognized as a valid defense to criminal charges brought under assault laws and other statutes.

Educational Outreach: The Education Outreach Program is designed to help educate those inside and outside the
communities about important issues relevant to those who practice consensual BDSM and nonmonogamy. EOP provides virtual workshops and NCSF presence at events, helping to monitor the health of our communities.

Kink & Polyamory Aware Professionals (KAP): KAP is a service dedicated to providing the community with referrals to
mental health, medical, legal, and other professionals who are knowledgeable about, and sensitive to, diverse expressions of sexuality. Every professional on the KAP referral list must believe that any form of consensual sexuality between adults can be considered healthy if practiced in a safe and responsible manner. Some of the forms of sexuality we refer to include BDSM, swinging, polyamory, consensual non-monogamy, crossdressing, leather, and fetishes.

The Freedom and Privacy Project is dedicated to protecting our groups and clubs from administrative and judicial discrimination. As we continue to fight Sexually Oriented Business Ordinances, and the myth of Adverse Secondary Effects, we came to realize that more education in our community is necessary.

Incident Reporting & Response (IRR) program provides assistance to individuals, groups, and businesses who are involved in the kink, polyamory, and Lifestyle communities and for people seeking information about them.
