Two women and a man who are enjoying a polyamorous relationship have welcomed two new sons into their family.
Damien Sullivan, born in February, and his half brother Ryan, who was born four months later, were both fathered by Buddy from San Diego, California.
The boys will be raised by Buddy and two mothers – Rose (Ryan’s biological mother) and Lauren (Damien’s biological mother) – as the three parents are in a poly-triad relationship.
Rose said of their unconventional set-up: ‘The biggest misconception is that we are sister wives but we are all intimate with each other, all three of us have a relationship.’
Rose and Buddy had been happily married for five years, and had two sons together, Owen, five and James, three, before Lauren became part of their family.
Rose and Lauren had dated in the past and when Rose looked her up again on social media, she realised she still had feelings for her.
‘I instantly felt romantic feelings for her still and I talked to Buddy about it and he was fine with it,’ Rose said as the family share their story on the latest series of TLC UK show My Extraordinary Pregnancy.
‘Me, as a guy, I definitely thought that would be cool,’ Buddy admitted when Rose suggested they start dating as a threesome.
‘When we first started hanging out I thought this could really work out,’ he said.
The trio says they are all now in love with one another and so they decided to make their relationship official.
They all share a bed in their home and Rose and Buddy’s sons now also call Lauren their mother.
Buddy admitted ‘bringing our boys into the situation, bringing another mom figure in was a big deal’ but they are happy with how it has worked out.
Lauren said: ‘I feel more complete now with a man and a woman, versus just being with a woman.’
Rose agrees as she is delighted to be able to have both her first love and her husband in her life.
Meanwhile Buddy said: ‘I feel more complete too.’ …
