NCSF’s Incident Reporting & Response received 50 reports & requests for assistance from individuals, groups and businesses in July, August and September 2024, compared to the 81 reports in the 2nd Quarter of 2024.
NCSF maintains the confidentiality of those who come to us for help, however we balance that need with the need to report the services we are providing and to provide the community with a record of where the need is the greatest.
Here is a breakdown of the cases we dealt with in the 3rd Quarter 2024:
Criminal
There were 20 requests for resources and information involving criminal legal matters, compared to 22 in the 2nd Quarter of 2024:
- 16 reports came from people who were sexually assaulted, assaulted, injured, threatened, kidnapped, threatened with a gun, photographed, STI exposure, nonconsensual hypnosis, harassment, stalking, looking for a domestic violence shelter (3 of the accused were presenters or organizers)
- 2 people reported that people have said they’ve committed consent violations
- 1 person reported that they have been accused of grooming people for their partner to commit consent violations
- 1 person witnessed an assault
Groups
Resources were requested by 18 organizations and people who are dealing with groups, compared to 38 requests in the 2nd Quarter of 2024:
- 6 groups asked about attendees/presenters/organizers or reported they had banned someone
- 4 groups asked about liability issues
- 3 groups asked for a consultation on their consent policies & procedures
- 1 group needed assistance with local ordinance laws
- 1 group asked about the legality of BDSM
- 1 group needed insurance
- 1 group needed assistance with a volunteer issue
- 1 person was banned by a group
Outing
There were 5 reports compared to 5 in the 2nd Quarter of 2024:
- 3 groups needed assistance with outing/doxing involving their members
- 1 person reported they were outed
- 1 person reported they were being harassed and threatened with outing to their job
Civil
There were 3 reports compared to 5 in the 2nd Quarter of 2024:
- 1 report involved accusations of defamation by an ex
- 1 request for referral for a tax professional
- 1 request for a referral for a copyright attorney
Professional
There were 2 requests regarding professionals compared to 8 in the 2nd Quarter of 2024:
- 1 professional needed assistance with a consent issue for a client
- 1 professional sex educator needed a referral for an attorney about setting up their business
Child Custody/Divorce
There were 2 requests for resources and referrals for family court attorneys, compared to 3 in the 2nd Quarter of 2024:
- Two parents reported issues involving adult age play impacting on their child custody
