It only takes 5 minutes to complete. We need everyone to respond.
For those of you who started to take the survey but didn’t finish or answer all of the questions, please go back and complete the survey (comments are optional). Just click the link above and it will take you back to where you left off.
Over 1,500 kinky people have taken the survey so far. Here’s where we stand right now on several of the questions:
37% say they’ve been in the community from 1-5 years
73% say they can’t speak comfortably to their co-workers or family about their BDSM practices
15% say they’ve had a safeword or safesign ignored by a partner during play
63% say they’ve participated in a group discussion on consent
86% say the BDSM community needs more education about consent
The results of the Consent Counts Survey and a draft statement on consent will be presented to the Coalition Partners at the NCSF Annual Meeting in Phoenix, AZ, February 8-10, 2013. It will then go to mass distribution on YouTube.
To participate in discussions of consent online with kinky people both in the US and around the world, join our Consent Counts group at https://fetlife.com/groups/46202 NCSF is committed to supporting and encouraging people to discuss ethical consent so we can move to a more thorough understanding of what consent is, and to provide better education for people who are interested in exploring their sexuality.
