NCSF named Bianca Laureano as our first recipient of the Vi Johnson Liberation Award. NCSF’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee awarded Bianca due to the breadth, depth, and varied ways that she has challenged the injustices and inequalities in sexuality education, presentation, accessibility, and services. For two decades, Bianca has been a scholar, researcher, activist, and leader globally. Her creativity and innovation as a liberator have forever changed the landscape.
The Vi Johnson Liberation Award intentionally honors and celebrates the contributions of Black, Indigenous People of Color and the LGBTQ community. NCSF’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee is dedicated to honoring, celebrating, and amplifying these voices.
