NCSF’s Incident Reporting & Response received 65 reports & requests for assistance from individuals, groups and businesses in January, February and March 2024, compared to the 50 reports in the 4th Quarter of 2023.
NCSF maintains the confidentiality of those who come to us for help, however we balance that need with the need to report the services we are providing and to provide the community with a record of where the need is the greatest.
Here is a breakdown of the cases we dealt with in the 1st Quarter 2024:
Groups
Resources were requested by 24 organizations and people who are dealing with groups, compared to 17 requests in the 4th Quarter of 2023:
- 4 groups asked for a consultation on their consent policies & procedures or training their Consent Response Team
- 3 people were banned by a group
- 3 people made defamation accusations after a group banned them
- 3 people needed information and KAP attorneys for setting up an organization
- 2 groups asked about attendees/presenters/organizers or reported they had banned someone
- 2 groups needed a KAP attorney for zoning issues
- 1 group needed assistance with DEI issues
- 1 club needed assistance dealing with “sexually oriented business” regulation
- 1 group needed information about an equal opportunity issue with a volunteer
- 1 person questioned a group’s adherence to fiduciary duty
- 1 group was threatened with being reported to the attorney general for organizational noncompliance
- 1 group needed information in case they were raided by the police
- 1 group asked for assistance because their website was labeled as dangerous
Criminal
There were 24 requests for resources and information involving criminal legal matters, compared to 16 in the 4th Quarter of 2023:
- 23 reports came from people who were assaulted, sexually assaulted, choked, stealthed, exposed to an STI, harassed, a victim of domestic violence, or seeking a restraining order (3 of the accused were presenters or organizers)
- 1 person inquired about the legalities of sex work
Civil
There were 8 reports compared to 6 in the 4th Quarter of 2023:
- 6 reports involved defamation, with 4 people accused of defamation and 2 people alleging defamation who were seeking an attorney, mediator or restorative justice professional
- Someone reported wrongful termination by a Pro-Domme house
- Someone was looking for cities that support nonmonogamy to move to
Outing
There were 5 reports compared to 2 in the 4th Quarter of 2023:
- Someone was threatened with outing on FetLife
- Someone was outed by FetLife and OnlyFans images
- Someone reported swatting and outing/doxing
- Someone reported outing/doxing after posting about a sexual assault
- Someone reported their FetLife photo was used in a negative media article
Professional
There were 3 requests regarding professionals compared to 6 in the 4th Quarter of 2023:
- 2 people needed a referral to a KAP therapist
- A professional needed info on consent and nonmonogamy
Child Custody/Divorce
There was 1 request for resources and referrals for family court attorneys, compared to 3 in the 4th Quarter of 2023:
- Someone reported a child custody issue involving consensual adult age play
