Russell J. Stambaugh, a psychotherapist, sex therapist, and researcher, was a leading advocate for professional sex education about the kink and non-monogamy communities. Despite the stigma and marginalization of this population, Russell made it his mission to educate about consent and clinical cultural competency for professionals, a group that includes physicians, social workers, psychologists and legal professionals. He is an inspiration in the way he took a stand for those who couldn’t advocate for themselves; always hoping to make it easier for people to face the challenges in life that our society rarely declines to discuss.
