Incident Reporting & Response – 2nd Quarter 2025 Report

NCSF’s Incident Reporting & Response received 77 reports & requests for assistance from individuals, groups and businesses in April, May and June 2025.

NCSF maintains the confidentiality of those who come to us for help, however we balance that need with the need to report the services we are providing and to provide the community with a record of where the need is the greatest.

Here is a breakdown of the reports we dealt with in the 2nd Quarter 2025:

Groups

Resources were requested by 35 organizations and people who are dealing with groups, compared to 33 requests in the 1st Quarter of 2025:

  • 13 groups asked for a consultation on their consent policies & procedures
  • 9 groups asked about attendees/presenters/organizers or reported they had banned someone
  • 5 groups needed organizational assistance
  • 4 people needed help with dealing with consent issues with a group
  • 1 group needed insurance
  • 1 group needed advice and an attorney to set up a private membership group
  • 1 group needed to deal with someone on the Registered Sex Offender list
  • 1 group is being attacked by local authorities who are passing ordinance an anti-SOB (Sexually Oriented Business) regulation.

Criminal

There were 15 requests for resources and information involving criminal legal matters, compared to 18 in the 1st Quarter of 2025:

  • 9 reports came from people who were sexually assaulted, assaulted, choked, injured, photographed without permission, restraining order violated, and limits violated
  • 3 people reported that they were reported to groups for committing a consent violation (1 was a community organizer)
  • 2 people reported public criminal records on people for rape and child pornography
  • 1 detective needed information on consent to kink for a criminal trial

Civil

There were 10 reports compared to 2 in the 1st Quarter of 2025:

  • 3 people reported being accused of defamation
  • 2 people reported job discrimination (1 due to adult age play)
  • 1 person reported they were defamed by a queer media platform
  • 1 organizer reported defamation against their group
  • 1 person was being blackmailed
  • 1 professional needed information on defamation
  • 1 person needed a referral for a personal injury legal case

Professionals

There were 10 requests regarding professionals compared to 6 in the 1st Quarter of 2025:

  • 5 people needed a referral to a mental health professional for trauma
  • 2 professionals (1 mental health and 1 law student) needed information on EPP for kink
  • 1 mental health professional reported a licensure complaint connected to both their professional work and their private lifestyle
  • 1 doctoral student asked for educational help for a clinical psychology course in Human Sexuality and Sex Therapy
  • 1 professional reported their workplace was receiving calls for their termination

Outing

There were 6 reports compared to 5 in the 1st Quarter of 2025:

  • 3 people reported being outed by an organizer
  • 1 organizer reported that being accused of doxing and outing
  • 1 person was outed to their university FetLife and private Facebook photos
  • 1 person reported they were outed by photos.

Child Custody/Divorce

There was 1 request for resources and referrals for family court attorneys, compared to 3 in the 1st Quarter of 2025:

  • 1 parent reported child custody issues with their ex (the parent is a kink educator) due to kink being called “sexual deviance.”
